Welcome to the DCDSC website!  Here you can learn more about the DC Democratic State Committee, stay informed about DCDSC events and find out how to get involved with the DC Democrats.  The District of Columbia Democratic State Committee (“DCDSC”) is the Democratic Party of the District of Columbia and, as such, the official arm of the national Democratic Party (the Democratic National Committee - “DNC”) in the DC jurisdiction. The majority of members of the DCDSC are elected in the Democratic Presidential Primary every four years.

The purpose of the DC Democratic State Committee is to elect Democrats to all levels of government and to promote the platform of the Democratic Party, which is predominantly to allow access to all rights of US citizenship for DC residents. One of the fundamental purposes of the Democratic Party of the District of Columbia is to participate with Democrats across America in the selection of the Democratic nominee for President of the United States.  The District of Columbia Democratic State Committee is chartered by the Democratic National Committee as the governing arm of the Democratic Party in DC.
